Russell Bio Organic Liquid Biostimulant, Yokosan
PFC 6 (B) Non-microbial plant biostimulant – EU Fertilizer by Regulation (EU) 2019/1009

Yokosan is an organic, liquid, biofertiliser based on humic acid, amino acids and seaweed extract.

It is a dark-brown liquid with a pH between 6-7. The product does not contain synthetic additives or genetically modified organisms. Yokosan is usable in organic Agriculture in accordance with regulations (EU) no2018/848 and 2021/1165 and the NOP regulation

How Yokosan Works:

Yokosan helps plants develop a powerful root system to enable early growth and improve yields. It does this by increasing nutrient availability through chelation.

Benefits:

  • Improved tolerance to biotic and abiotic stress
  • Improve seed germination rate
  • Improved crop quality
  • Earlier harvest
  • Improves water holding capacity
  • No harmful effects on the environment

Study Report

Yokosan was evaluated as a biostimulant in strawberry and tomato cultivation trials conducted during the 2023 season under greenhouse conditions in Spain (Huelva for strawberries and Sevilla for tomatoes). The aim was to assess its effects on vegetative growth, yield, nutrient use efficiency, and tolerance to abiotic stress, particularly drought. In both trials, Yokosan was applied at a rate of 0.5L/ha via drip irrigation across eight applications. Treatments included normal and reduced irrigation (40% less water) to assess resilience under water stress.
